For sale is a charming antique French map of North Africa in classical antiquity with Mauritania, Numidia and the Carthaginian Empire. This large map is detailed and has beautiful soft colours, all hand-coloured. A nice detail is that the prime meridian crosses Lutece (mentioned just above the map), which is the name Paris had in antiquity. The decorative title shows the printing year 1851. The wide margins make this map perfect for framing.arges.
Dimensions: 51 x 69 cm
Condition: the map has clearly visible offset (= ink from one side of the centrefold has ended up on the paper on the other side of the centrefold, because the map was folded in the atlas). See the brown edges around the title and in the centre of the map. Otherwise the map is in very good condition.
