For sale is a beautiful old map of the Balkans in the year 1885. This German map is very detailed, zoom the photos to see it well. At the bottom right is an inset map of Odessa. The map clearly shows the slow decline of the Turkish Empire: Serbia, Romania and Montenegro are depicted as independent countries . Bulgaria and Bosnia-Herzegovina are still part of the Turkish Empire. At the bottom is the year 1885 printed in small print. The map is a hand-colored copper engraving, printed on heavy paper.
Dimensions: 36.5 x 47 cm
Condition: the map is in good general condition, the paper has some faint brown age spots but is completely intact. Issued with a (vertical) centerfold
Origin: Stieler's Handatlas - Edition of 1885
