For sale is a fairly large antique French world map from 1858. It's striking that both poles haven't yet been fully mapped. The map is hand-colored. The colors also indicate which oceans the rainwater ultimately flows into. Ocean currents and wind directions are indicated within the oceans.
Dimensions: 40 x 53.5 cm
Condition: The map has one horizontal and three vertical folds (so it could be folded into the atlas in which it was published). There is a 4 cm tear along the middle vertical fold (at the top). See the penultimate photo. A small tear in the left margin, see the last photo. Otherwise, good.
